I stood outside of the house trying to decide what to say.
all i wanted was to know if she still loved me.
but, i thought that if she in fact did, and i asked her, i might plant a seed of doubt.
i looked to my left to see the neighbors pulling into their driveway. they got out and waved and started for the house.
Tom stopped just before he went inside, and looked back at me.
I shrugged.
He nodded, then went inside.
it was dusk.
